Jonathan De Vos (°22nd april 1989) develops himself in all kinds of art. Next to his traditional drawings he also paints, Always thinking of the basics. Jonathan keeps trying to improve his skills and let his work evolve. This happens in a physical way by discovering new technologies. In the present this is reflected in the use of digital media in his art. On the other hand he also develops himself in a psychological way, by collecting ideas from the world around him.
To get where he is today, Jonathan had some crucial moments in his life. For example: The first thing he ever sketched were balloons and trees.
His dad – Marc De Vos – is also a talented artist and Jonathan has attended multiple art schools. He attended the academy for art in Temse for twelve years. The last grade in highschool he followed at Sint-Lucas Gent, which is also the city where he's currently finishing his final year in Animation film at the KASK university.
Jonathan is a man who has already gained recognition for the things he has achieved. He is the winner of the 'Ereprijs Jos Hoste' art contest (2000) and he took second place in the drawing competition 'The night of the artist', in Körperwelten, Brussels.
The one thing more important to Jonathan than recognition is satisfaction. The satisfaction to be creative all the time. Everything he can and should do, he does. That's why he always tries to be creative in everything he does. Even varnishing the garden fence can be regarded as art from his perspective. Or shorter, as long as he can express himself creatively. This he loves to share with other poeple. He's already teaching water color painting techniques in Sint-Niklaas.
Jonathan is able to work individualy and in group in a disciplined and organized way to achieve the best result possible and meet deadlines. “ I'm alway looking for new assignments ranging from Animations, digital paintings, photomanipulations, logo designs. A traditional painting or maybe a flawless sketch?”.
